Turkish Statistical Institute — According to the provisional data, produced with the cooperation of the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Customs and Trade, in March 2016; exports were 12 billion 811 million dollars with a 2.3% increase and imports were 17 billion 758 million dollars with a 5.2% decrease compared with March 2015.In the same month, foreign trade deficit decreased by 20.3% from 6 billion 205 million dollars to 4 billion 946 million dollars.In March 2016, exports coverage imports was 72.1%, while it was 66.9% in March 2015.Seasonally and calendar adjusted exports decreased by 3.5%…Seasonally and calendar adjusted exports decreased by 3.5% and imports decreased by 0.6%, compared with previous month.

As compared with the same month of the previous year, exports to the EU-28 increased by 18.1% from 5 billion 331 million dollars to 6 billion 295 million dollars. The proportion of the EU countries was 49.1% in March 2016, while it was 42.6% in March 2015.
